KOSO series - 52 boks in a year, April
Discipline requires a lot of strength and practice. We never really stop growing, and only by try& error we can learn what works for us and what doesn’t. Last few months have been quite intense. In April I started writing my first thesis, after AP Degree in Marketing Management. My project was about the Danish upcycling startup, where I did my internship at the beginning of 2021. I wanted to get some additional knowledge on Marketing and Sustainable Supply Chain Management, but I won’t get into too much detail into the first two, since they’re very topic specific, and there’s not much opinion I can share on those kinds of lectures. I was also lucky enough to meet one of NIKA’s board members- Nicole. I was visiting a friend in Valencia, and we managed to go for the weekend to Alicante, where Nicole is living.

BOOK 14- SUSTAINABLE FASHION SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT - TSAN-MING CHOI & T. C. EDWIN CHENG EDITORS
Because my thesis was focused on a sustainable brand, I figured it would be useful to read on sustainable fashion supply chain before starting to write. It consists of both theoretical and applied research on sustainable fashion supply chain management, and is made from three parts:
Reviews and Discussions,” “Analytical Research,” and “Empirical Research,” backed up by peer-reviewed papers contributed by researchers from Europe, Asia and USA. It’s also the first book to focus on sustainable supply chain management in the fashion industry and is therefore one of the pioneer lectures on this topic. It goes into explaining the concept fast fashion which is a concept of disposable trend.
Some of the topics included in the book are: Reverse Logistics of US Carpet Recycling; Green Brand Strategies in the Fashion Industry; Impacts of Social Media on Consumers’ Disposals of Apparel; Fashion Supply Chain Network Competition with Eco-labelling; Reverse Logistics as a Sustainable Supply Chain Practice for the Fashion Industry; Apparel Manufacturers’ Path to World-class Corporate Social Responsibility; Sustainable Supply Chain Management in the Slow-Fashion Industry; Mass Market Second-hand Clothing Retail Operations in Hong Kong;

BOOK 15- TAO TE CHING- THE BOOK OF THE WAY AND ITS VIRTUE – LAO TZU
Tao Te Ching is a Chinese classic text, originally credited to the 6th- century BC sage Laozi, who was also known as Lao Tzu or Lao Tze, the date of composition is still debated. The text is a fundamental lecture for both philosophical and religious Taoism, but it also strongly influenced other schools of Chinese religion and philosophy including Legalism, Confucianism and Buddhism, which was largely interpreted through the use of Taoist words and concepts when originally introduced to China. Tao Ta Ching was a source of inspiration for many artists, poets, painters, calligraphers and gardeners.
I found it very inspiring and I will be regularly coming back to its teachings.
“Some lead and some follow,
Some breathe easily,
Some breathe hard,
Some are strong and some are weak,
Some destroy, some are destroyed.
So, the wise avoid excess,
Avoid the pompous, and the arrogant.”
