L.L: The grass is greener where you water it

Today, I will be breaking down my current favorite quote by Paulo Ceolho - “Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right. Forget about these who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it.”

“Life is too short to wake up with regrets...”

Not everything is supposed to become something beautiful and long lasting. Sometimes things happen and people come into your life to show you what is right and what is wrong, to show you what you want, what you can be, to love yourself or to make you feel better for a little while. Not everything is forever, the world keeps spinning and we have to move forward. Thank them for what they have given us and learn from it.

You have and will remember when you thought you were such a mess and would never recover. And you smile. You smile because you truly are proud of yourself and how far you have come and the person you have fought to become. Reflect on the past don’t ponder on it. This always helps push me more personally. To not look at the past as pain I felt but rather strength I gained. Change your Perspective.

Not everyone will always congratulate or notice your perseverance, some might try to bring you down with them as they are still lost while you are glowing and growing differently. One day you realize what is actually important. You learn to care less about what others think. Treasure those who will join you in your madness of falling in love with life again. The others who don’t will lose you. Do what makes you feel happy. Fall in love. Maybe not with someone. Fall in love with the sun rises, music, exercise, the feeling of adrenaline that takes over your whole body and suffocates you with joy, good company around a fire, silence, noise, the smell of the ocean, volunteering, late night road trips, bettering yourself in whatever way you need, fall in love with the little things that make you feel most alive, fall in love with life and find your purpose. That will help you push to water the grass that you want greener.

Focusing on all the negative and everything you don’t have, comparing yourself to others will not change the fact that you don’t have something you wish you did. You spend most of your life inside your head, make it a good space to be in.

There are so many great ideas in the world, but the world is measured by great executions. Most of the time those executions don’t happen within your comfort zone. Calculate the risks but don’t let other factors define how big of a leap you take. Find what motivates you and make the jump. Get uncomfortable. Go with the choice that scares you the most. It’s the only way to grow.

People say “everything happens for a reason” look at the “reason” as:

Deciding what you will do with what you have right now. Not what you thought you would have, not what you were promised but didn't get. But what you have here, right now. The more you can keep your attention and intentions on that the greater your creations within your life will be.

Make the most of every moment and what you have. Where there is a will there’s a way.

Everyone gets handed different equipment to climb this mountain we call life. Some might have more rough terrain, stormy weather, we all might slip on loose rocky cliffs. But use what strength and tools you do have to get back up, dust yourself off. Appreciate the little viewpoints, sunny days and pit stops. And know that view will be great.

I hope you enjoyed this read sunshine’s! Stay bright!
